WelcomeFuture Network and MobileSummit 2011 took place in the Historical City of Warsaw, Poland, 15 - 17 June 2011. This was the twentieth in a series of Annual Conferences supported by the European Commission, which regularly attracts over 600 delegates from industry and research to share experiences and research results, identify future trends, discuss business opportunities and identify opportunities for international research collaboration under the ICT Theme of Framework Programme 7 (FP7). It contributed to showcasing European research in the field, and positioning it within the multiplicity of related initiatives supported in other regions of the world. In the context of convergence, the 20th Future Network and MobileSummit addresses the challenges of building the Future Internet, based on mobile, wireless and fixed broadband communications infrastructures. The Final Programme is published online and can be downloaded as a PDF brochure. Future Network Summit 2011 Best Paper AwardsThe Best Paper Award was presented to "Robust Collaborative Spectrum Sensing based on Beta Reputation System", authored by Kamran Arshad & Klaus Moessner, Centre for Communication Systems Research (CCSR), University of Surrey. The Runner-up Best Paper Award was presented to "Cognitive Management of Procotol Composition Enhanced Future Internet Elements", authored by David Wagner & Jens Moedeker, Fraunhofer FOKUS, Germany; Mathieu Bouet & GĂ©rard Nguengang, Thales Communications, France and Robin Schaffer, Telekom Austria AG, Austria. Future Network Summit 2011 Best Demonstration Stand AwardThe Best Demonstration Stand Award was presented to EUWB. Pre-Announcement of Future Network and Mobile Summit 2012Future Network & Mobile Summit 2012 will take place in Germany. The dates and location will be published in July. Pre-Conference WorkshopsA Proposers' Networking Day took place on Tuesday 14 June as a pre-conference event, focusing on FP7-ICT Call 8 and Celtic-Plus Calls for Proposals. This workshop was co-organised by Net!Works (previously eMobility), ISI Technology Platforms, Celtic Plus and IdealIST, with support from the European Commission to provide an in depth overview of these Calls.
